Robinson Crusoe: Blog 3

We pick up where we left off, now two years Crusoe has been on the island. he starts to discover the western part of the island where he sees land that he believes to belong to the Spanish American. Crusoe then spends awhile building a shelf for his abode where he plants rice and crops during the rainy seasons. he has a bird problem but fixes it. Crusoe eventually learns to make pots and they are of good use to him. Crusoe then wastes months trying to construct a canoe, only to see his plan fail miserably. By this time, he has been on the island for four years. Crusoe later finds himself short on gunpowder and creates a trap to catch goats as he is unable to shoot them now. He creates a farm where he gets butter, milk and cheese from the goats. One day, Crusoe then finds a "naked" human foot in the sand and Crusoe is terrified and believes the devil has followed him to the island. Crusoe then believes it could be a human foot and lives the next two years in fear, protecting his homes and goats as if they were being threatened. Crusoe then finds carnage of humans on the beach that he believes to belong to cannibals. he seeks to kill these cannibals, but later changes his mind as he believes it is cruel to kill.

The story begins to get more interesting as Crusoe starts to get into more problems and conflicts. He finds the problem of the cannibals living in the land near him and that scares him. he runs out of gunpowder and all of a sudden has to construct a new plan to keep the goats in his possession. The most interesting conflict is the foot in the sand. This simple foot drives Crusoe crazy. He lives in fear for almost two years. he has been missing human contact for four years and the first time he sees the first sign of a human, he freaks out and goes scared. You would think that he would want to meet this person, but he is amazingly frightened. Crusoe keeps on creating new things as he learns how to make pottery. he is a very strong man as he has survived on this island for six years now with no human contact and limited food supply. he has also had many life threatining situations and has survived them all. The chapter does not remind me of any tv show. I have learned that Crusoe has been on the island for six years now and that Crusoe is living very close to cannibals and that is very scary to me.
